Standard Licence
It is not necessary to hold a Foundation Licence before embarking for the Standard Licence.
Ham College runs a standard course in the first half of the calendar year. This years course will be conducted Tuesday evening each week commencing 9th Feb 2010 from 7.00pm to 10.00pm for approximately 20 weeks completing June/July.

The course includes both the Theory and Regulations components which are run as separate subjects. The regulations component is carried out from 7.00pm to 8.00pm for the first ten weeks.
Costs (2010) are $50.00 for the Regulations course and $120.00 for the Theory course. If combined the total cost is $150.00. Manuals are included in these costs. Contact Ham College to register your interest for Standard Licence Course.
If you are unable to make it to the course or prefer to study at your own pace, there are various texts available to assist in gaining a Standard Licence. They are available from the Wireless Institute of Australia (WIA) Bookshop or most libraries.
The Ham College manuals are also available for purchase by individuals at a cost of $40 each plus postage if required. These include both the regulations and theory information
A practical assessment is required if a foundation licence is not held by the candidate.
Ham College has a CD to cover all the requirements of the practical exam available at a cost of $5 plus postage.
